The 4th Complications in Spine Surgery Meeting was held on March 7, 2026, at Manisa City Hospital, and it was a resounding scientific and social success. Organized by the International Spine Society, the event brought together a diverse group of experts and practitioners to discuss the management and prevention of surgical challenges.
Under the leadership of Meeting President Prof. Dr. Ender Ofluoğlu and the hospitality of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ülkün Ünlü Ünsal, the program offered a deep dive into the complexities of spine surgery. The meeting featured a robust curriculum divided into specialized sessions:
• Trauma & Osteoporotic Spine: Moderated by experts such as Mehmet Zileli and Mesut Mete, focusing on cervical fractures and kyphoplasty complications.
• Degenerative Spine: A look at revision surgeries for lumbar spinal stenosis and proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK).
• Tumor & Infection: Addressing complications in primary and metastatic spine tumors, as well as post-injection abscess management.
• Deformity: Detailed analysis of adult deformity complications and distal junctional kyphosis.
The scientific program concluded with an interactive session of "Mixed Cases from Participants," fostering a collaborative environment for problem-solving.
