Our President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

As we navigate an era of rapid advancements in spine care from AI-driven diagnostics to regenerative therapies, the International Spine Society stands as a beacon of unity and progress. Our charter, forged in the spirit of global collaboration, reminds us that no single expertise can conquer the complexities of spinal health. It is through shared knowledge and collective action that we truly transform lives.
This year, I'm thrilled to highlight our renewed commitment to equity in access: launching initiatives to bridge gaps in low-resource regions and amplifying voices from underrepresented communities. Whether you're a seasoned surgeon or an emerging researcher, ISS invites you to join us in this vital work. Together, let's not just treat spines let’s redefine possibilities for millions.

With optimism and resolve,
Prof. Dr. Yahya Güvenç, International Spine Society

Spine Health Basics

A healthy spine starts with simple daily habits: maintaining balanced posture, performing regular core-strengthening exercises, and ensuring proper nutrition rich in calcium, vitamin D, and magnesium. These fundamental practices reduce stress on spinal discs, improve alignment, and form the cornerstone of lifelong spine health.

Education for All Generations

We believe spine health education should reach everyone—from young children to the elderly. Through interactive school programs, family workshops, community seminars, and online content, we teach posture awareness, safe movement techniques, and preventive strategies to protect the spine at every stage of life.

Collaborations & Partnerships

By building strong partnerships with leading medical institutions, universities, professional associations, and global spine health networks, we expand our reach and deliver evidence-based, high-impact initiatives that improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of spinal disorders worldwide.

Fighting Back Pain & Disorders

Back pain remains one of the leading causes of disability globally. We organize specialized seminars, awareness campaigns, multidisciplinary case discussions, and patient education programs to help individuals recognize early warning signs, access proper care, and adopt effective strategies to manage and prevent spinal conditions.
