1st Monastir International Spine Conference & 7th Congress of the Middle East Spine Society
The 1st Monastir International Spine Conference together with the 7th Congress of the Middle East Spine Society (MESS) was successfully held on 24–26 October in Monastir, Tunisia. The event brought together a distinguished international faculty and numerous participants from across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, creating a vibrant scientific atmosphere focused on contemporary spine surgery.
The program included live surgeries, cadaver workshops, keynote lectures, panel discussions, and oral presentations, offering participants rich educational and hands-on learning opportunities. Major scientific themes covered during the meeting included:
- spinal deformity
- degenerative spine disease
- minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery
- cervical and lumbar trauma
- lumbosacral stabilization
- metastatic spine tumors
- adult degenerative scoliosis
Renowned invited speakers delivered high-level plenary lectures, while interactive case discussions encouraged active participation and exchange of clinical experience among surgeons at different stages of their careers. The meeting also hosted a dedicated session on scientific writing and publishing, supporting young spine surgeons in academic development.
Participation was exceptionally strong, reflecting the rapid growth of spine surgery education and collaboration in the region. The congress also served as an important platform for establishing new academic partnerships and future joint training activities under the umbrella of the Middle East Spine Society.
