Over February 7–8, 2026, the Departments of Neurosurgery and Anatomy at Marmara University School of Medicine successfully organized the “Istanbul Cadaver Course – 5th Spine Course –Cervical Spine Surgery,” an international hands-on training program. The course was held at the Marmara University Institute of Neurological Sciences and Neurosurgery and brought together participants and faculty to focus on spinal anatomy, surgical approaches, instrumentation techniques, osteotomies, and deformity correction on cadaveric specimens
The event was organized in collaboration with the WFNS Spine Committee, Middle East Spine Society (MESS), and the International Spine Society with the support of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) reflecting strong international cooperation and academic partnership.
We were only able to allocate 30 trainees with the limited number of mentors and cadavers. We had distinguished speakers from 12 different countries and trainees from 11 different countries.
We sincerely thank all distinguished faculty members for sharing their expertise throughout this intensive course and for contributing to the advancement of education in thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine surgery.
